Guitar World Launches AcousticNation.com

NEW YORK, NY (October 1, 2013) — NewBay Media is pleased to announce the launch of AcousticNation.com, a new channel of GuitarWorld.com focusing on acoustic music. Acoustic Nation will cover a variety of styles, including rock, folk, indie, country, and bluegrass, and a variety of instruments, including ukulele, mandolin, banjo, fiddle, and acoustic bass. With news, interviews, features, lessons, gear reviews, tips, contests, and giveaways, Acoustic Nation will offer content for players young and old, contemporary and traditional, from beginner to pro.

Acoustic Nation will live within the framework of GuitarWorld.com, with content segregated in its own section, and wide exposure throughout the Guitar World site. Lessons for beginner to intermediate players will be offered, including the exclusive Acoustic Nation “Play It Now” video series in which original artists teach viewers how to play their hit songs.

Acoustic Nation’s gear coverage will range from acoustic guitars and accessories to all types of other stringed instruments, including ukulele, mandolin, banjo, fiddle, acoustic bass and more.

A highlight of the site is a stable of bloggers from throughout the music industry, including hit singer/songwriter Matt Nathanson, top Nashville songwriter Marty Dodson, new music blogger Tom Gilbert, guitar instructor Laura Zucker, indie artist Kaela Sinclair, gear blogger Justin Horenstein, singer/songwriter and author Ali Handal, NYC artist Dorit, and many more.

Acoustic Nation will feature new, exclusive content daily that approaches the acoustic scene with a fresh perspective. Spearheading the project is Acoustic Nation editor, Laura B. Whitmore, a music industry veteran, guitarist, and singer/songwriter. Whitmore also writes the Guitar Girl’d blog for GuitarWorld.com and is the founder of the Women’s International Music Network.
