Charlie Weiss Named Publisher of NewBay Media’s TV Sector Brands

NEW YORK, NY (January 13, 2015) — NewBay Media has announced that, effective immediately, Charlie Weiss has been named Publisher of its TV Sector brands, including industry-leading titles such as Broadcasting & Cable, Multichannel News, and Next TV. Weiss reports to Louis Hillelson, VP/Group Publisher of NewBay’s TV Sector.

Weiss joins NewBay’s TV Sector after successfully leading the company’s Pro Audio Group, where he managed the Mix, Sound & Video Contractor, Pro Sound News, and other leading brands in the portfolio. During his tenure, he helped develop the Pro Audio Group’s marketing services, lead-generation programs, social media, and digital product offerings, as well as launched the very successful Sound for Film event under the Mix brand.

Within the TV Sector, Weiss will lead and expand the group’s marketing services, advertising, and event sponsorship efforts, and will ensure that the group continues to deliver the unparalleled value of NewBay’s market-leading TV-focused resources. Additionally, Weiss will work closely with other NewBay-owned brands, including TV Technology, Television Broadcast Europe, and Broadcast Engineering, to provide a comprehensive resource for marketers to reach the breadth of TV, video, and broadcast professionals.

Weiss came to NewBay Media from Group FMG, where he was Vice President, Publishing. There he successfully managed business development, client media solutions, and digital transition. Prior to FMG, Weiss held executive positions at Backstage, Intellisphere, Nielsen Business Media, and Reed Business Information.
