NEW YORK, NY (February 11, 2014) — NewBay Media, the world’s largest publisher of AV/pro audio resources and news, has announced that, effective immediately, Charles Weiss has joined the company as a Publisher in the AV/Pro Audio Group where he will have responsibility for leading industry brands such as Pro Sound News, Mix, Pro Audio Review, Music Festival Business, Sound & Video Contractor, and the AES Daily.
Weiss will focus on continuing to deliver the unparalleled value of NewBay’s market-leading magazines, while dynamically growing the digital, event, and marketing services capabilities within the AV/Pro Audio Group. Additionally, Weiss has been charged with increasing the editorial and sales coordination between NewBay U.S. and European AV/Pro Audio brands, including PSN Europe, Installation, and Audio Media.
Weiss comes to NewBay Media from Group FMG, where he was Vice President, Publishing. There he successfully managed their business development, client media solutions, and digital transition. Prior to FMG, Weiss held executive-level positions at Backstage, Intellisphere, Nielsen Business Media, and Reed Business Information.

In his previous roles, Weiss was responsible for not only sales, but also for providing cross-platform solutions for evolving print-to-digital businesses, as well as event management.
